Charlie has been a working professional drummer and percussionist for the
past three decades alongside his extensive teaching schedule. He’s taught
students of all ages in schools and colleges as well as privately, both in the UK
and abroad. He was a contributing writer and interviewer for Rhythm Magazine
and led many drum-circles and percussion ensembles.
As a multi-stylist, Charlie teaches a vast array of drumming styles and draws
upon his own musical experiences to teach students authentic beats and their
various performance applications.
Charlie has amongst many others played/recorded with Alton Ellis, Sam Smith
and his singing teacher Joanna Eden, Intensified, Jim Mullen, John Etheridge
and Winston Francis.
